Green change and sustainability in the sector, en Funermostra 2021

Sustainable alternatives to cremation and burial, a lake as a natural option to cemeteries, polls 100% biodegradable made with coffee or stone pine seeds, the sarcophagus of Tutankhamun or the ceremonies in streaming. All this and much more can be seen in Funermostra 2021, the first big post-pandemic appointment for the funeral sector, from 20 nd to 22 October at Feria Valencia.

València, 29 September 2021.- The innovation, The sustainability, respect for diversity and new ways of saying goodbye will be the concepts that guide the 16th edition of Funermostra, International Fair of Products and Funeral. The benchmark trade fair for the sector in Spain will open its doors at Feria Valencia next Wednesday 20 October. The official inauguration will be made by Alejandro Ramón, Councilor for Cemeteries of the Valencia City Council, who will be accompanied by other authorities.

Thus, F, from 20 nd to 22 October, Funermostra will be the scene of change in the funeral sector: more green, more sustainable and much more formed. A sector that, also, has demonstrated its essential work in society, especially during the first months of the pandemic.

During three days, Professionals will be able to see all the innovations that will make it possible to turn towards new more conscious and respectful farewell formulas. It will be a change to the demands of society, looking for more natural rites, more conscious and sustainable.

Funer show will pose all the transformations that the sector will have to face in the medium term in a large space: 10.000 m2 of surface in which about a hundred exhibitors between companies, brands and institutions will present new solutions based on the creation and saving of resources that position the Spanish funeral sector as a benchmark in environmental awareness.

A lake, a green option to the cemetery

Funermostra will recreate a lake as an alternative to saying goodbye to loved ones. The visitor will be able to see 'in situ' an aquatic ecosystem designed to deposit the remains after the rite of cremation. An initiative never recreated at a fair. The objective is to show an alternative that will turn cemeteries into spaces that help to understand and value the cycle of life through its naturalization.

Likewise, in Funermostra you can see a reproduction of the famous tutore of Tutankhamun. According to the Unicoffin company, It is a very special commission from an antique collector who contacted this firm to make him something very special for his funeral.: a sacorphagus worthy of the pharaohs of Ancient Egypt.

Also urns 100% biodegradable made with coffee or stone pine seeds, digital solutions for farewell rituals via streaming, electric cars, Eco-sustainable machinery or the latest technology in crematorium ovens will be part of the commercial showcase that will accompany this green change.

Different ways to say goodbye

Funerals will also evolve with respect to what is currently established and therefore will also be present at Funermostra 2021 all current alternatives to burial and conventional cremation, how are deep freezing and alkaline hydrolysis.

There will also be a debate on how funeral homes should be, crematoria and cemeteries of the future and how architecture will help that change. From the hand of Territorial College of Architects of Valencia, the industry benchmark fair will reflect on the role of architecture in the management of death and the act of farewell. Urban art and photography

Funermostra will feature an exhibition by photojournalist Álvaro Ybarra: The experience of death in times of Covid19, made during the toughest times of the pandemic. An initiative sponsored by Memora and the Funerary Guild of Valencia.

Feria Valencia will also host the urban art exhibition ‘Mexicraneos’ of the Albia Group, an impressive exhibition composed of several monumental pieces that can be visited at the contest and that brings us closer to mourning through the art and history of the funeral rite in Mexico. A round table around the future of cemeteries or an expected ‘facial restoration masterclass' will in turn be content of Funermostra.
